Heavy machinery and construction crews have returned to Metairie Centre, as work on the newest building in Phase II begins. Shown in the center of the rendering above, the 13,200 square foot Building 2 will house the Breast Center of Acadiana (for more information on this anchor tenant, please see the sidebar at right), as well as an exciting collection of small businesses.

Building 2 will be located along Metairie Centre Boulevard, adjacent to Metairie Centre’s centerpiece pavilion and event center. The Breast Center of Acadiana will be joined by a local optometrist, Teal Realty & Development’s main office, and a bakery specializing in what we believe are the best donuts and kolaches in Acadiana. Over 70% of the space in Building 2 has already been pre-leased, with only 3,300 square feet still available.

Site and infrastructure work began shortly after the New Year, and businesses are set to begin opening in August of 2013.

Corner Bar – Youngsville Set To Open

The Youngsville location of Stanley Lerille’s popular Corner Bar is nearing completion and will open in early April. The 2,500 square facility will feature over 20 beers on tap, a selection of fine wines and food, and much more. And as always, it will be smoke-free. Come see them soon in Building 1, next to The Paper Pod Gift Store.

The Breast Center of Acadiana Coming to Youngsville

The Breast Center of Acadiana, the region’s most advanced imaging and breast health center, has chosen Metairie Centre as the location of their Youngsville satellite office. The center, located in the upcoming Building 2, will provide advanced screening and diagnostic services in a location convenient to women throughout south Lafayette.

The Breast Center of Acadiana, founded and operated by radiologist Dr. Gary Mathews, is “dedicated to providing the highest quality service and care to the women of Acadiana.” The Youngsville location, in conjunction with their main office in Lafayette’s River Ranch, will feature state-of-the-art comprehensive breast diagnostic services, including digital mammography, breast ultrasound and MRI, and more.

Dr. Mathews’ practice is the only in the region fully dedicated to breast health. Metairie Centre is proud to support the Breast Center’s valuable efforts in the fight against breast cancer, and looks forward to their upcoming opening in August 2013.

Construction Begins on the Youngsville Sports Complex

The $15 million, 70-acre Youngsville Sports Complex and Activities Center has been a hive of activity since the groundbreaking ceremony in January. Infrastructure and site construction is well underway, with fields and viewing areas now being formed. Featuring a world-class tennis center along with baseball, softball, and soccer facilities, Phase I of the project will open to the public in Spring of 2014.
